Stainless Steel Wires
Scope and Possibilities
Stainless steel wires for industry – from ~0.1 mm to 14 mm, in various finishes and packaging. Deliveries in accordance with EN ISO 10088-3 and EN ISO 6931-1 with quality control and material documentation.
- Diameters: ~0.1–14 mm
- Finishes: bright, glossy, matte, oiled, soap coated, EPQ
- Packaging: coils, spools, Eurocoils
- Base standard: EN ISO 10088-3 and EN ISO 6931-1
Applications
- Food/chemical industry: sieves, meshes, springs, device components resistant to washing and cleaning agents.
- Construction/architecture: balustrade components, decorative details.
- Automotive: springs, retaining rings, fasteners exposed to corrosion.
- Household appliances/equipment: dishwasher baskets (EPQ), refrigerated shelves, display wires.
- Medicine/precision engineering: guides, small equipment components (depending on requirements).
- Energy/petrochemistry: components operating at elevated temperatures and in corrosive environments.
Available grades and their typical applications
- AISI 304 / 1.4301 – universal, good corrosion resistance; general-purpose components, sieves, meshes, fasteners.
- AISI 316 / 1.4401 – higher resistance to chloride environments; Marine/chemical industry, components exposed to organic acids.
- AISI 316L / 1.4404 – designed for aggressive, humid, salty, chemical, and marine environments, where high corrosion resistance is required.
- AISI 321 / 1.4541 – titanium-stabilized grade, improved resistance to intergranular corrosion at higher temperatures.
- AISI 302 / 1.4310 – spring wire; high elasticity and fatigue resistance.
- AISI 430 / 1.4016 – ferrite; Lower corrosion resistance, but better magnetic properties and an attractive price.
On request: other grades (e.g., Hastelloy, Alloy C-4, 1.4568) and tempers for specific processes.
Surface Finishes
- Bright / glossy: low friction, aesthetics.
- Matte / light: for further processes (welding, coating, forming).
- Oiled / soap-coated: better slippage when drawing/bending.
- EPQ (Electric Polished Quality): for "visible" applications requiring smoothness (baskets, shelves).
Parameters and Delivery
- Diameters: ~0.1–14 mm (others on request).
- Packing: coils / spools / eurocoils, unit weights adapted to the process.
- Documentation: in accordance with EN 10204/3.1.
